Yaffle & Bosk

Meet Rob Williams, a skilled and highly-trained craftsman starting his new business creating bespoke furniture all crafted by hand.

Rob came to us wanting a new brand envisioned that matched the quality and values his new business would stand for. This would include everything from the name creation, brand clarity, brand values as well as a logo design.

With these goals in mind, we began creating a contemporary brand that would reflect the quality of craftsmanship that goes into his products.

Establishing a brand, Rob's audience will love.

The first step of the naming and branding process was to send Rob our brand questionnaire, this is a thought exercise for clients to establish what a brand's identity is and what would set it apart from his competitors. We found that Rob's brand stands beside these values:

"Providing high-quality bespoke wood tables and furniture that improve your audience's lifestyle."

"Learning how to make small changes to leave the world a better place."

"Establishing authentic relationships and enjoying life through experiences."

"Maintaining a business that allows you to spend ample time with your family."

With these key values in place and with further liaising with Rob, we were able to create a strong brand.

We sent over a list of proposed names for Rob that aligned with the sustainable messaging and natural ethos his brand stands for. We wanted to create a name that would be instantly recognisable, would reflect his values and would be carried forward as the business grows.

We decided upon Yaffle & Bosk. "Yaffle" being a green woodpecker and "bosk" meaning a small wooded area.

Once the name was decided, we designed everything from a primary logo, sub marks, colourways and brand guidelines for future branded work. With a quality brand established, Yaffle and Bosk can speak directly to their target market and leave a lasting impression.

Establishing worthwhile connections online.

As part of the brand strategy, we worked with Rob to land a specific audience to target. This would be beneficial for the future when creating targeted campaigns and would align with the business's goals. We could begin to create an engaged community by introducing stories and sharing behind the scenes of the workshop.

We landed on Yaffle & Bosk's audience would be individuals who understand the importance of quality and where their products derive from, as well as those who value family and sharing good times with others.

Sharing more about the brand's story and the value of meaningful and sustainable living will be an important part of the business and growing an online community to help Yaffle & Bosk expand.
