Why We Became a Technical Agency

Since the global pandemic, we've seen many businesses thrive, but we've also witnessed the immense struggle that it's brought too. Like many other businesses over the last two years, we've had to rethink our business and strategise our services. By adjusting to the current climate, we can cater to all of our client's needs, whilst scaling our own business as well.

'Digital' has become less about the devices we use and more about the interaction between people and the world around them. We acknowledge the importance this has on building connections between businesses and their customers.

As the world becomes more digital, companies need to adapt to fit the demand. So to remain competitive, businesses must adopt technology to be more agile and meet the ever-changing needs of their customers.

Over the last year, you may have seen our business, which worked exclusively in digital marketing, is now creating mobile applications, discussing augmented reality and sharing posts about the metaverse.

As an industry, we're seeing a collective shift as companies become more tech-driven to compete in this new landscape. It became apparent to us that we also had to consider this trajectory and transition our core offerings around software development to cater more to our client's needs. We know it's a fundamental change, but we're so excited you're here to explore why we've made this transition.

What does a technical agency do?

A technical agency specialises in creating digital solutions for clients, such as website development, software applications and artificial intelligence.

Tech agencies consider the present and future of innovation to create more engaging and interactive experiences for brands.

Most companies hire freelance developers to write their individual software solutions, so we saw the need to create a full-service agency capable of handling all these needs in one place.

Why become a technical agency?

It's no secret that the world we're living in is more digital and companies need to adjust to fit this demand. Transitioning our marketing agency to a design-led software development company seemed like the new logical direction for us to encompass this market.

The rise in digital transformation caused us to rethink the way we work and create value for our clients. Building bespoke technical solutions whilst helping brands scale is what drives us.

We've considered how crucial it is to implement tech and how it can solve certain problems for companies and their customers. But it can also be utilised to scale brands as well.

Standard digital marketing plays an essential role for any business, but the most creative ad campaign is no longer the biggest driver of online conversions. Now founders should focus on investing in their technology and software to better scale and run their operations.

Barr Media is a design-led software development agency, focusing on providing our clients with bespoke solutions, data and artificial intelligence. This shift was based on the accelerating pace of technology and the overall demand. Structuring our core services around tech whilst also delivering on design is how we aim to maintain our competitive edge.

Technology has always been at the core of our creative process because of our technical founders, but slowly, over the course of the last few years tech has played a more significant and more pivotal role in the services we deliver to clients over marketing. We needed to evolve as an agency to meet those demands and now we can utilise our creativity and technical expertise to offer a design-led software agency.

Innovations such as AR and artificial intelligence are foreseen to be key players in the future of digital marketing. Combining traditional promotion methods in a novel way can create fully immersive experiences and lead to an increase in conversions. Companies such as Patrón have been pushing the boundaries of digital transformation, as back in August the brand held a virtual pop-up event in the metaverse for a summer campaign. Users who attended could explore three virtual events dedicated to the brand's summer cocktails.

Investing in innovation means that brands can evolve with technology. As a relatively new concept, Patrón gained a fair amount of buzz from hosting an immersive event in the metaverse. Additionally, they were able to reach a larger audience and grow their brand's awareness since users from all over the world could attend.

Virtual events may be out of reach for certain brands, but every business can benefit from investing in technology, such as a high-quality web presence or building applications to simplify their processes. This is why we evolved as an agency, so we can help every brand embrace digital transformation.

Wrapping up

It's been an exciting journey to become a technical agency and see the industry change around us. We're proud to be one of the brands leading the change and offering our clients more services in the process. As technology changes, we'll continue to evolve as an organisation so that we're equipped to meet our client's needs with the best solutions. Brands are seeing the benefits of partnering with a technical agency and it's opened up new ways for agencies to work with clients.
